CELEBRATE VALENTINE'S WEEKEND W/ "BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S"!
Saturday and Sunday February 13 and 14, 2010 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
Tickets are $7 in advance, and $8 at the door.
Looking for the perfect event to turn up the romance for Valentine's Weekend? Then spend it with the one-and-only Audrey Hepburn as madcap glamour girl Holly Golightly in the star-studded classic romance, BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S!
BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S will be screened on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 14 at 4:30 p.m. All ladies attending will receive a complimentary gift chocolate courtesy of Pure Imagination Chocolatier and one lucky winner will receive a Sterling Silver Heart Pendant courtesy of Star Jewelers of Bexley!
Perhaps no film better uses Audrey Hepburn's flighty charm and svelte beauty than this romantic adaptation of Truman Capote's novel. Hepburn's Golightly, an enchanting neurotic living off the gifts of gentlemen, is a bewitching figure in designer dresses and costume jewelry. George Peppard stars as her new upstairs neighbor, who's growing friendship with the lonely Holly soon turns to love and threatens the delicate balance of her life. Director Blake Edwards turns New York into a city for lovers and creates a poignant portrait of Holly, a frustrated romantic with a secret past. Composer Henry Mancini earned Oscars for the hit song, "Moon River" and his romantic score. BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S - by turns elegant, hilarious, and downright heartbreaking - went on to become one of the great screen romances, as well as a refined slice of high society bohemian chic whose influence on fashion and beauty continue to this day.

A new documentary based on the Gallup poll of worldwide muslim opinion produced by Alex Kroemer and Michael Wolfe. As part of this groundbreaking six-year project, Gallup conducted tens of thousands of interviews with residents in 35 predominantly Muslim nations, as well as smaller populations in Europe and the USA. The broad extent of the polling has delivered findings for the world’s 1.4 billion Muslims with a plus or minus accuracy of 3% Focused on the issues of Gender Justice, Terrorism, and Democracy –the film presents this remarkable data deftly, showing how it challenges the popular notion that Muslims and the West are on a collision course. Like the research, the film highlights a shared relationship that is based on facts – not fear. A panel discussion will follow the screening.

Continuing a tradition that began in 1860 at the private gardens at Buckingham Palace, the Drexel Theatre celebrated the new film, The Young Victoria on January 3rd, with a delightful High Tea featuring fine English tea, and an assortment of scones, jams, sweets and tea sandwiches. This event was highlighted by a special appearance by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
Over 120 "loyal" fans attended this event, and the Queen was most pleased with the charming folks who met with her. See the Queen and her guests in a slideshow from the event:
If you missed your opportunity to have Tea with the "Queen", don't miss your chance for the next best thing - see THE YOUNG VICTORIA starring Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend at the Drexel today!
The Young Victoria stars Golden Globe nominee for Best Actress Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada) in her first major starring role as Queen Victoria. On the eve of her 18th birthday and ascension to the English throne, young Princess Victoria is caught in a royal power struggle. Her first years of rule are turbulent, and the court is filled with intrigue, but it is her blossoming love affair with Prince Albert (Rupert Friend, Pride & Prejudice), the suitor who wins her heart, that will determine the strength of her reign. Can she dedicate her life to her country and her heart to the one man she truly loves?
Written by Julian Fellowes (Academy Award winning screenwriter of Gosford Park), The Young Victoria is a passionate and romantic look at one of history's greatest love stories. Set amongst all the intrigue of the English court of the period, the film features a stellar supporting cast including Miranda Richardson, Academy Award-winner Jim Broadbent, Paul Bettany and Mark Strong. The Young Victoria, now showing at the Drexel Theatre, is rated PG. The film was directed by Jean-Marc Vallee and produced by Martin Scorsese, Graham King and Sarah Ferguson.

High Tea with the Queen was made possible in part with the help of generosity of Costume Specialists of Columbus, the Ohio State Department of Theatre and JMH Antiques.
